Leighton O’Brien announced the appointment of fuel retail industry leader Neil Thomas to the Board as a Non-Executive Director, effective 1 July.

Neil Thomas joins Leighton O’Brien Board

Mr Thomas has more than 30 years’ experience in the global energy industry including almost 15 years leading Wayne Fueling Systems before successfully completing the sale of the business to Dover Corporation in 2016.

With a focus on value creation for global industrial and technology businesses, he has successfully led several large M&A transactions and has a strong track record of driving growth and improved profitability through product and technology innovation.

Most recently he was President and CEO of Trojan Battery Company, the world’s leading manufacturer of deep-cycle energy storage solutions, where he led a rapid company turnaround resulting in its successful sale to new private equity owners.

During his tenure as CEO of Wayne Fueling Systems, he strategically positioned the company as a technology leader focused on retail fueling equipment and services and completed several acquisitions and joint ventures.

He has also held several marketing, sales and strategy roles at Chevron Corporation and Tokheim and was a senior management consultant at UK firm Arthur D. Little.

“Neil brings significant expertise in value creation for global businesses through technology innovation, which aligns with our strategic growth plans both in and beyond the petroleum industry,” Mr Leighton said.
