Spain: Repsol introduces scan & pay with new payment method
Spanish oil company is one of the first fuel retailers in Europe to introduce scan & go technology.
Repsol has announced the launch of Way&Go, a payment method that allow users to scan products with their smartphones, pay automatically and avoid queueing up at the counter.
After scanning the products, customers will validate their items list at the check-out point, pay automatically though the app, and leave.
This new purchase method will allow the energy company to be at the forefront of new digital technologies in retail – scan & go is already functioning in various supermarkets and convenience shops around the world but it will be a first for Spain.
Way&Go is now available as a pilot test at Repsol's service station in Alberto Aguilera, Madrid.
Since 2017, the Waylet application, through which Way&Go works, allows you to pay with your mobile phone at any of Repsol's service stations and partner stores. It already has more than one million registered users and 3,500 associated stores.
