English Español Spain: Ballenoil and Endesa reach agreement for EV charging points

The leading retailer for unmanned gas stations joins the electric vehicle trend with the new agreement.

Spain’s leading electricity provider Endesa has reached an agreement with Ballenoil, an independent retailer with 106 sites, to install EV chargers at half of its gas stations.

Just over 100 EV charging points will be installed at 53 Ballenoil unmanned stations spread across 10 Spanish provinces. The deal signifies the partnership between Spain’s leading electric utility with the biggest ‘lowcost’ forecourt operator, Ballenoil.

“The deal is ambitious and it allows is to advance with an optimum ally that has shown its commitment with sustainable mobility as a solution to tackle climate change, and innovation in its client service,” said Luis Buil, responsible for Smart Mobility at Iberdrola.

The deal includes the installation of 50kW and 22kW charging points.

Ballenoil is the leader in the unmanned, lowcost sector with 106 stations. The company wants to increase that number by 24 after the recent liberalization of the market in Spain.
