Q8 grows in Spain with the acquisition of 67 service stations
Kuwait Petroleum International and Saras sign agreement for take over of Spanish fuelling network.
Kuwait Petroleum España S.A. has announced the acquisition of 100% of the Saras Energía S.A.U. network in Spain, including ancillary services and employees.
The operation includes 67 service stations located throughout Spain, with a special focus on the region of Catalonia. The new stations, will become part of the Q8 network already allowing the brand to reach a greater number of Spanish customers. During the next months the sites will be rebranded as Q8.
"This operation is a new step in our growth strategy in Spain, and thus reach the leadership position in the market that we have in other European countries, where the Q8 brand has more than 4,700 stations,” said Shaikh Nawaf S. Al-Sabah, President & CEO of Kuwait Petroleum International.
The Q8 network will provide fuels as well as alternative fuels and electric charging services.
The stations will also have services beyond the supply of fuel thanks to partnerships with major food and beverage brands with the aim of making stops in Q8 service stations.
