The Government of Argentina confirmed in the Official Gazette the Decree that provides for the prohibition of increasing the price of fuels until next 7 November. The regulation "is based on the magnitude of recent economic and financial events".

Due to the strong devaluation of the peso and in order to avoid the consequent disparity in fuel prices, the Government of Argentina decided to move forward with the freezing of fuels through Decree 566/2019, published in the Official Gazette at the end of last week.

The Decree obliges oil companies, distributors and service station owners to maintain prices guaranteeing unlimited fuel supply.

The regulations exclude fuels derived from natural gas.
