Tanknology showcases TankCam® HD and TankCleanTM services at the 2019 NACS Show

Tanknology Inc. the world's largest provider of environmental compliance testing and inspection services, used the recent NACS Show to showcase new service offerings, including a high-definition version of their industry-leading TankCamTM, known as TankCam HD.

TankCam HD is remote, high-definition video camera system that allows underground storage tank (UST) owners to identify potential issues inside of tanks, including structural or lining problems, cracking, blistering, delamination, or corrosion.

TankCam HD allows tank owners to pinpoint the cause of failed tightness tests, verify conditions after a tank cleaning, locate unused riser openings, verify overfill protection or visually inspect fuel conditions – and no fuel removal or excavation is required. Each TankCam HD inspection is performed by a highly-trained and certified Tanknology technician and results in a digital video record and detailed report that notes the condition of the inspected tank.

The patent-pending TankCam HD is a high-definition upgrade to the TankCam, which has been used to investigate thousands of USTs. The TankCam HD provides high quality images at distances up to 20' or more, allowing thorough inspections of most USTs through a single opening, eliminating the need for manned entry in many cases. The system is currently available in select markets. However, the company has plans to provide ubiquitous domestic coverage by the end for the first quarter of 2020, and introduce the technology into additional international markets.

"With the aging single-walled UST population, a video camera inspection provides unparalleled access and information on the interior of tanks. In addition to a valuable assessment tool when acquiring existing facilities, TankCam HD is also extremely valuable when developing a capital upgrade or replacement program," noted Allen Porter, President and CEO of Tanknology. "Our new TankCam HD system improves on our groundbreaking TankCam technology and allows owners to get a crystal clear picture of what's happening inside their tanks so that they can make informed decisions about their next steps."

TankCam HD also can be used in conjunction with TankCleanTM Remote Video UST Cleaning System.

First introduced in 2011, Tanknology’s TankClean is the industry’s only video-guided UST cleaning system. As part of a TankClean process, the TankCam HD is placed inside the UST via a riser and is remotely operated by a technician, providing a live clear view on a color monitor of the entire cleaning process. The TankClean process utilizes a directed high-pressure rinse to clean tank and by having the clear view of the inside the tank, TankClean only cleans what actually needs to be cleaned.

Tanknology also used the NACS Show to introduce its new Fuel and Tank Quality Services Division, a new division that will address the growing demand for cleaning diesel tanks and filtering diesel fuel in the United States.

The new division utilizes the industry-leading TankClean Remote Video UST Cleaning System, FuelPure Fuel Filtration System and DieselCheckTM Inspection Program to monitor and maintain the health of underground storage tanks and the fuel stored inside of them.

The FuelPure Fuel Filtration System eliminates contaminants, sediment and water from fuel by utilizing a proprietary graduated, four-stage filtering system. Tanknology was one of the first companies in the industry to enter the fuel polishing market, when it purchased the technology in 1996. Since that time, FuelPure has grown to be the most trusted fuel polishing technology in use in the United States.

Tanknology's DieselCheck Program gives tank owners a glimpse into the health of stored fuel by utilizing proprietary sampling methods to collect periodic fuel samples from single or multiple points in aboveground or belowground diesel storage tanks.

“Tanknology is uniquely positioned to provide solutions to owner/operators dependent on high quality diesel,” said John Harris, Tanknology VP and head of the new division. “We have over 20 years of fuel polishing experience with nationwide coverage provided by trained technicians.”

“As a separate division the singular focus is to provide best in class service on both a preventative and reactive basis.”
