English Español Iran: Fuel stations disinfected daily against COVID19

NIORDC announced that all fuel operators are required to fill customers’ cars, or provide drivers with gloves and disinfectans so they can refuel themselves.

Iranian gas stations, in particular sites located in high-risk areas of the country, are being disinfected daily to prevent the spread of coronavirus, reports media Shana citing the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC).

NIORDC announced earlier in a statement that all fuel station operators are required to do the filling operation for their customers, or supply drivers with gloves and disinfectants so that they can refuel themselves. The measures in place aim at strenghtening public health.

Following the outbreak of coronavirus in Iran, the Fire Department of Tehran made arrangements with the Municipality of Tehran to disinfect public places in the capital. This includes subway stations, bus rapid transit (BRT) vehicles and stations, food and vegetable markets, holy shrines and religious sites, the central railroad station, Tehran’s grand bazaar, hospitals, the Tabiat Bridge, and the Vali-e-Asr street.

On Monday morning, the number of people tested positive for the COVID19 in Iran exceeded 13,938. The death toll from the virus outbreak in the country rose to 724, and more than 4,590 have recovered and discharged from hospitals.
