PTT’s Café Amazon announced that 11 of its stores in Metro Manila and in nearby provinces have already been re-opened since the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine to Monday’s easing up of restrictions to General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

Placing of orders, however, remains confined to take-out and delivery pending guidelines that will be issued by the local government units (LGUs), said PTT Philippines president & chief executive officer Thitiroj Regrsumran.

“We are still waiting for the guidelines from the LGUs whether they would allow dine-in customers. But for the meantime, our re-opened branches accept take-out and delivery,” the Thai executive said. “But as soon as we get the go signal from authorities to allow dine-in, we will do it gradually.”

Rergsumran said safety protocols are observed in these stores such as the implementation of ‘no mask, no entry’ policy, physical distancing with limited number of customers allowed to get inside the stores, putting up of plastic barrier on the cashier counter, and provision of alcohol and sanitizer, among others.

“The stores are also being sanitized every hour to ensure that everyone is protected,” he said, adding that the rest of Café Amazon stores that remain closed were already sanitizing in preparation for their reopening soon.

Café Amazon Philippines, the most popular coffee brand in Thailand, currently has 17 stores in the country with PTT Philippines as the master franchisee.
