H2ar Consortium is an initiative that seeks to create a collaborative platform for members involved in the hydrogen value chain in Argentina.

Last update:

Y-TEC, YPF's technology company and CONICET, launched the Consortium for the Development of the Hydrogen Economy in Argentina (H2ar), an initiative that seeks to create a collaborative business platform between companies integrating the hydrogen value chain.

The initiative was launched during a virtual meeting in which more than 40 companies interested participated.

"The H2ar consortium will allow the partner companies to have access to cutting-edge information, promote the generation of their own technical capacities and make it possible to create innovative ventures in a sector that will play a central role within the energy sector over the next decade," explained Santiago Sacerdote, general manager of Y-TEC.

Argentina has "excellent natural resources for the generation of hydrogen, through its highly competitive renewable energy sources and its important natural gas reserves," states YPF's press release on the launch of the H2ar Consortium.
