Last update:

The Avia-Primagaz partnership continues to deploy CNG stations at a steady pace in France. After opening the Fontenay-le-Comte and Niederhergheim locations a few weeks ago, the tandem is now officially opening a new site in Fretin, reports GazMobilité.

The station in Fretin was originally operated by Axegaz, and it has been entirely renovated to meet the standards set by Avia and Primagaz. Its upgrading has been partly financed by the European Union in the framework of the LNGMotion programme, of which Primagaz is a participating member.

The new site has two islands and three refuelling lanes. It is equipped with an 80 m3 LNG tank, two LNG distributors and two CNG distributors with NGV1 and NGV2 connectors to serve all types of CNG vehicles.

With plans to set up a network of 20 stations by the end of 2021 Primagaz intends to open two more sites in the next two months. The first will be located in Vern-sur-Seiche, while the second will be in Gonfreville, in Seine Maritime.

"By regularly opening new NGV stations, we are effectively pursuing the path set out by the Primagaz Next business model, whose objective is to contribute to reducing the environmental footprint of energy and to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2040. To this end, NGV is a key step towards a decarbonised France, one that will enable us to gradually move towards BioGNV by 2025", explains Matthieu Lassalle, Chairman and CEO of Primagaz.
