The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) has recently published the 4th Edition of the code of practice for the installation of electric vehicle chargers. This title provides practical guidance on the specific challenges of installing EV charging equipment in filling station locations, including safety requirements and the logistical considerations that have to be addressed.

Filling stations are an obvious place to provide charging facilities, and this Guide has been developed with stakeholders in this area to ensure that the information provided is relevant and represents the most up-to-date technical guidance available.

Along with the APEA (the Association for Petroleum and Explosives Administration) who represent the major stakeholders in this sector, with input from major fuel companies responsible for filling stations nationwide. The Guide has been created with current guidance from the IET’s Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation (4th Edition).
