English Español FEV delivers a mobile charging station for Uniper

Uniper is planning to set up over 1,300 mobile rapid-charging stations in Germany by the end of 2024.

Last update:

FEV, a globally leading service provider of vehicle and powertrain development for hardware and software, has developed a mobile rapid charging station for the energy supplier Uniper. To be offered as Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas), the station is equipped with an energy storage that will be replaced by another colum once the unit is empty.

With a footprint of 1.2 × 1.25 meters and a height of 2.5 meters, the system is compact and can deliver electricity completely autonomously. The unit will be able to charge two electric cars simultaneously at charging capacity of up to 75 kW.

A dedicated power supply and logistics network will be responsible for recharging and replacing the batteries at special charging hubs. These locations would also provide network services, according to FEV project managers. The goal is to be capable of installing the charging mobile units in less than 24 hours across Europe.

Uniper is planning to set up over 1,300 mobile rapid-charging stations in Germany by the end of 2024 – specifically in Berlin, Munich and the Ruhr area. The company is targeting customers such as municipal utilities, gas stations, supermarket or restaurant chains, but also has in minds events and presentations of electric cars.
