HYPORT, a project of France’s Occitanie Region and ENGIE Solutions for the deployment of hydrogen recharging infrastructure at airports, is partnering with French hydrogen specialist McPhy for the installation of two hydrogen filling stations and a 1MW high-power electrolysis unit in the Toulouse-Blagnac airport.

The deployment is scheduled for the end of 2021, according to a press release.

The specificity of this project is based on the setting up of one station in a private restricted zone for airport services, while the second will be deployed in a public zone.

The stations will enable all types of vehicles (buses, light commercial vehicles, captive fleets, large goods vehicles, etc.) to be refueled with hydrogen thanks to a dual pressure configuration offering 350 and 700 bar.

The 1MW high-power electrolysis will boast a capacity of 400 kg per day, that will supply the stations as well as nearby industrial sites.

HYPORT is 51% owned by ENGIE Solutions and 49% by the Occitanie Regional Energy and Climate Agency.

McPhy, a specialist in zero-carbon hydrogen production and distribution equipment, will operate a total of 45 hydrogen filling stations once the locations at the Toulouse-Blagnac airport are active.
