Mountain Express Oil Company has confirmed its acquisition of Brother’s Food Mart. The New Orleans-based brand is the largest c-store chain in the city and will now expand its operations across the southern markets with support from its buyer. The firm purchased the majority of its stores and has a license agreement to use the name.

With more than 50 locations in the region, Mountain Express Oil is planning to open up to 100 additional sites in North Carolina, Atlanta, Memphis and Dallas. It will also help Brother’s Food Mart in growing its Louisiana’s footprint.

“Brothers Food Mart has definitely made its mark in the New Orleans area as a standout c-store amongst the competition, and one bite of their famous chicken makes it obvious as to why Mountain Express wants to expand its reach by bringing the popular brand to a number of cities across southeast,” said Lamar Frady, Mountain Express Oil’s co-CEO alongside Turjo Wadud.

“We found a great match in Mountain Express, a company that can help grow and move Brothers forward. Turjo, Lamar and the team are great partners and can help us grow our brand without changing what makes it so special today,” commented Brother’s Food Mart’s co-owner Imad Faiez ‘Eddie’ Hamdan algonside its brother-in-law, Ziad Odeh ‘Z’ Mousa.

Brother’s Food Mart originated in 1989 and it’s well-known for its fresh fried chicken, a customer favourite and well promoted product, not only for locals but for tourists as well. Hamdan founded the company to support its family after immigrating from Jerusalem to America and to contribute to the city’s community. He has helped New Orleans citizens for years, providing donations after natural disasters that affected local areas of the city.
