Hectronic has announced an association with BayWa Mobility Solutions to advance in the digitalisation of its services. The partnership involves updating the firm’s fuel card business for truck drivers to be able to pay for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) using the BayWa app at the company’s forecourts thanks to the easy2fuel ConSy mobile payment platform from its partner.

The software can be used to digitise all payment transactions with the physical fuel card. For this to be possible, Hectronic had to transfer all the necessary steps required for refueling at the terminal to the app.

Said process consists of three simple actions: the driver starts the authorisation process, selects truck model and pressure and authorises the refuel via PIN or fingertip. Before this, the client has to confirm it has completed the safety training, otherwise the app will show him the prescribed safety video. After detailing the model and pressure, the dispensing temperature for LNG is automatically transmitted to the dispensing point, where the trucker also has the option to enter the current mileage. After this, the fuel pump is released and the driver can start refuelling. Once he is finished, he’ll receive the receipt on his smartphone.

Pilot tests have been active since November of this year and BayWa aims to have its new function available to all customers at the beginning of 2022. Hectronic is also planning on implementing cross-acceptances with other operators of LNG stations, which BayWa has already agreed on.
