Endesa X and McDonald's inaugurated the first ultra-fast charging points for electric vehicles at several of the fast food brand's restaurants in Spain. The new chargers have a 150 kW capacity and are able to charge 80% of the vehicles' battery in approximately 10 minutes.

"Thanks to the agreement with large companies such as McDonald's, we continue to bring electric mobility closer to users, facilitating charging in their daily lives; diversifying technologies, in key locations and with cutting-edge technologies, to suit everyone's needs", said Elena Bernárdez, Endesa X's Director of Electric Mobility.

This project is part of the agreement signed between the two companies at the end of 2019 for the installation of EV charging points in the car parks of their restaurants in the country. The aim of the initiative is to improve the consumer experience and meet their needs.

"With the installation of ultra-fast chargers we continue to improve our customers' restaurant experience with an added and environmentally responsible service. We are proud of this initiative in which we are working hand in hand with Endesa X, through a mobility project that is part of our commitment to environmental sustainability," added Natalia Mota, Director of Purchasing, Quality and Sustainability at McDonald's Spain.

This initiative is part of the fast food brand's "Happy Change" sustainability plan, presented in 2020 and which has several projects under development. So far, Endesa X has deployed 96 fast charging points in 36 restaurants in 31 locations.

The first locations to have ultra-fast charging points are Córdoba (Avenida del Brillante, 20 and Avenida de Libia, 13), Lérida (Calle Joaquín Costa, s/n), Los Alcores (Calle Utrera, 1), Puente Genil (Calle Montalbán, 19), Rivas Vaciamadrid (Avenida de los Almendros, s/n), Villalba (Calle Amapolas esquina Alejandro Gamella) and Utrera (Ctra. Arahal - Utrera, km. 77, Avenida Cuesta del Merendero).
