Praxair gets contract to supply hydrogen to NASA

Praxair, the largest liquid hydrogen producer, won a contract to serve four NASA sites located in Mississippi, Florida, Alabama and Ohio, the company said.

Last update:

Hydrogen fuel provided by Praxair meets standards to fulfill the agency’s missions, the statement added saying the hydrogen to be supplied is worth $53 million.

NASA uses hydrogen as fuel for rocket engine development, testing and launch of spacecraft; delivery of satellites into earth orbit; and delivery of payloads to the International Space Station.

Hydrogen is also being increasingly used as road fuel for vehicles but the industry is still at an early stage with yet few hydrogen filling stations and few hydrogen car models.
