Orpak India Announces a Follow-on Contract from BPCL for the Automation of an additional 5,000 Gas Stations

June 1st, 2015, Tel Aviv Israel and Pune, India – Orpak announced today that Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune 500 company and India’s second largest oil retailing company with a network of over 12,000 Retail Gas Stations, issued Orpak India a follow on contract for the automation of an additional 5,000 BPCL gas stations.

Following a successful proof of concept, Orpak India was chosen, in mid-2014 to implement Automation Systems in 1,500 BPCL stations. After customizing the solution to fit BPCL’s business requirements, Orpak has already accomplished to roll out in more than 1,100 stations in the past few months.

Orpak’s solution for BPCL is based on SiteOmat™ (Orpak’s embedded forecourt control and back office) and Head Office. The SiteOmat interfaces Multiple Product Dispensers, tank gauging systems and price poles of various manufacturers and includes an integrated back office system for petroleum & dry stock product management. Orpak’s solution also includes payment applications for bank & loyalty card acceptance in the forecourt. The Head Office is a web server application for fuel retail network management with instant SMS and email alerts for reports, critical alarms and events.

Following the rapid and successful implementation of the earlier project, Orpak India was chosen to provide a follow-on project for BPCL for another 5,000 stations. Implementation at these 5,000 stations is expected to begin immediately with a target completion within next 12 months. Orpak India will deploy the solution at an outstanding rate of 500 stations per month.

Once this massive project is completed next year, the count of Orpak’s automation systems will reach 12,000 deployed stations in less than 6 years.
