Japan's Lawson stores in Thailand to expand to 1,000 locations, from just 40 currently

Reuters news quoted in late June an executive from Thailand’s Saha Pathanapibul who said that his company, in partnership with Japan-based Lawson, will increase the number of ‘Lawson 108’ stores in Thailand to 1,000 within the next three years which is explosive growth compared with only 40 locations now.

Last update:

The Saha Lawson venture, formed only three years ago, will target consumers looking for fresh and ready-to-eat products, Saha Pat’s director Vathit Chokwatana said in a news conference, Reuters said.

An estimated investment figure was not provided, the news agency added.

Lawson competes against CP All Pcl, which owns more than 8,000 7-Eleven locations and is Thailand's largest convenience store chain, according to the report.
