ZUVA rebrands gas station network

ZUVA Petroleum Two L., a downstream operating company in Zimbabwe, has spent $6 million in a rebranding operation which is expected to finish by the first quarter of 2016.

Last update:

The company, formerly known as Shell Zimbabwe, has an investment budget of $20 million dedicated to the rebranding of 72 service stations across the country, according to Sunday News.

Bethwell Gumbo, chief executive officer of ZUVA, explained that the move came on the back of reports revealing customers failed to identify their brand, making the company less visible.

“Zuva was born out of a combination of BP and Shell service stations hence we have tried to create a brand that builds on predecessors’ brands but with a local flair that will make us recognisable to our customers. Branding is an important aspect to building trust,” said Mr Gumbo to the African newspaper.

The company has kept “Zuva” as a name, but has changed the colours and logo. Mr Gumbo said the name remained the same due to its Zimbabwean tradition, while they have implemented the colour green to show they are environment friendly.

Zuva will also be supplying Diesel 50 in its gas stations – a total of 72 in Zimbabwe.
