Total, Pertamina sign LNG supply deal

Total has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with state-owned Indonesian company Pertamina.

Under the sale and purchase agreements, the supply of LNG volumes will increase from 0.4 to 1 million tonnes per year over a period of 15 years beginning 2020.

“Strengthening our presence in Asia, in particular through innovative relationships with new LNG buyers such as Pertamina, is an important part of our strategy,” said Laurent Vivier, President Gas at Total.

Under the terms of agreement, Total will purchase from 2020 around 0.4 million tonnes per year of Pertamina´s contacted LNG volumes from Corpus Christi LNG, currently under construction in the United States. In parallel, Total will end up supplying overtime a maximum of 1 million tonnes per year of LNG from its global portfolio.

Pertamina is Indonesia´s state-owned, leading energy company. Its natural gas business ranges from exploration and production to forecourt retailing for over 250 million people living in the Asian archipielago.
