The project, in partnership with Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc., will provide infrastructure required for zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) including the Toyota Mirai, according to Air Liquide news release.

The hydrogen fuel stations, which will be open to the public by early 2017, can be found in the following cities where Air Liquide has entered long-lease term agreements:

  • Hartford, Connecticut
  • Braintree, Massachusetts
  • Mansfield, Massachusetts
  • Bronx, New York

The hydrogen, produced off-site by Air Liquide, will be delivered to the stations. Fuelling will take approximately five minutes and the Air Liquide-designed stations can also support other automakers’ hydrogen FCEVs.

“Air Liquide firmly believes in the potential of hydrogen as a clean and reliable source of energy for the transportation sector, both in the United States and worldwide. We are deeply committed to enabling the widespread deployment of hydrogen fuel cell technology and the required infrastructure,” said Ole Hoefelmann, CEO of Air Liquide Advanced Technologies U.S. LLC and Vice President of Air Liquide advanced Business & Technologies (aB&T) Americas.

More than 75 hydrogen fuelling stations have been designed and installed by Air Liquide worldwide.
