China: Apple Pay now accepted at 1,500 Suguo stores

Chinese supermarket chain Suguo is now accepting mobile payments using Apple Pay at its 1,500 stores, which include convenience stores, community stores, supermarkets, and shopping plazas in Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, reported China Tech News.

The move is part of the retail company’s plan to provide a secure and convenient mobile payment experience.

Consumers can make payments using Apple Pay by placing an iPhone 6 or above model close to a China UnionPay Quick Pass POS. Payments are completed with fingerprint verification.

Apple Pay joins other payment platforms already supported at Suguo stores like Alibaba's Alipay, Suning's Yifubao, China Telecom's Bestpay, and Tencent's WeChat payment.
