China floods wreak havoc on over 500 Sinopec gas stations

More than 500 gas stations of China Petroleum and Petrochemical Corp (Sinopec) have been damaged by the worst flooding that has hit China since 1998, reported Reuters.

According to Sinopec, more than 300 petrol stations have been out of operations since mid-June, more than 250 stations have been considered unsafe to use, and the company’s pipelines and port facilities were damaged due to severe flooding that has affected central and southern China in the past two weeks.

The flooding and rain have already cost the lives of 173 people affecting more than 31 million people in 12 provinces, according to the country’s Ministry of Civil Affairs as reported by Bloomberg.

The natural disaster has also left serious damages to properties amounting to $10 billion.
