Tesla opens world’s largest Supercharger in Norway
Tesla has recently launched the world’s largest fast charging station in Nebbennes, a Norwegian town located approximately 60 kilometers away from Oslo.
According to elbil.no, the station is open 24 hours and capable of recharging 28 electric vehicles (EV) at the same time.
Aside from 20 Tesla Supercharger stalls which have a combined power output of 2 MW, the station also houses four fast chargers (CHAdeMO and Combo/CCS, 50 kW DC) and four 22 kW (AC) charging points from Fortum Charge & Drive.
The inauguration was held on September 1 and attended by Tesla country manager Pål Simonsen, Fortum Charge & Drive manager Jan Haugen Ihle, Norwegian EV Association secretary general Christina Bu, and 150 Tesla owners.
There are more than 35,000 EV owners in Norway and a quarter of new cars sold every year are either electric or hybrid, according to gas2.org.
More than 3,000 Tesla cars are sold in the Scandinavian country ever year making it one of the company’s best markets in the world.
