Neste to introduce 100% renewable diesel in Finland

Neste is planning to start selling diesel produced entirely from renewable raw materials at selected stations in Finland around the turn of the year.

Last update:

Majority of the renewable raw materials the company uses to refine the product, consists of waste and residues. The product launch is one of Neste's ways to participate in the centenary of Finland's independence in 2017 known as 'Finland 100 years'.

“Neste is a pioneer in developing cleaner traffic fuels. Good examples of these include the premium Neste Pro Diesel and the high-quality Neste Futura fuels. We will now be the first in Finland to launch diesel produced entirely from renewable raw materials, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90 per cent compared to conventional diesel," says Mika Hyötyläinen, VP, Marketing at Neste Oil Retail.

Neste's proprietary NEXBTL technology makes it possible to produce renewable diesel and other renewable products out of waste and residue materials and vegetable oils.
