Neste awarded as leading biofuel operator

Neste was selected as the leading biofuel operator at the 2016 Global Energy Awards.

Neste came first in the Industry Leader Award Biofuels category in the competition arranged by S&P Platts, a provider of market information and research in the energy sector.

The panel of judges was impressed by NEXBTL technology, which enables the production of top-quality renewable diesel and other renewable products from nearly any waste fat or vegetable oil through a hydrogen-based treatment.

Another innovation which the panel appreciated was the company's plan to start production of renewable propane at its Rotterdam refinery by the end of 2016.

The Global Energy Awards are now in their 18th year. The award ceremony took place in New York on December 8.

Finnish company Neste is the world´s largest producers of renewable oil products. In 2015, Neste's net sales stood at EUR 11 billion.
