Bulgaria: OMV gas stations start offering money transfers

OMV filling stations in Bulgaria to start offering MoneyGram's money transfer services.

MoneyGram has announced a partnership with fuel retailer OMV Bulgaria to start offering its services at the 84 OMV gas stations in Bulgaria.

“We want to save our customers’ time in their busy life by offering our services in convenient locations, easily accessible not only for our regular customers but also new ones. I believe that that thanks to this partnership, MoneyGram brand will be visible to all traveling through Bulgaria,” said Radu Pojoga, of MoneyGram.

OMV filing stations, located in urban and rural areas across the country, have become in the recent years multifunctional service stations. This new kind of offerings fits money transfer services.

“Through our partnership with Factor I.N to provide MoneyGram’s service, we believe that we will further improve our customers’ satisfaction by saving them time in the busy day,” said Petar Velichkov, General Manager of OMV Bulgaria.

According to the World Bank’s estimations, in 2016 a total of $1.5 billion flowed to Bulgaria amounting to 2.9% of country’s GDP for 2015. Remittances mainly came from Turkey ($697 million), Spain ($166million) and Germany ($95 million).
