KazMunayGas introduces QR-code payments at its sites
Fuel retailer KazMunayGas National Company has introduced a QR-code payment system for fuel cards in Kazakhstan.
State-owned oil company KazMunayGas will allow consumers to pay with their phones by using generated QR-codes. The new system is part of a pilot project that will be extended to all the KazMunayGas stations if successful.
“Fuel card holders of KazMunayGas are able to create their QR codes through a personal account in a mobile application or at www.azskmg.kz, using the fuel card number,” said the company in a release.
The generated QR-code can be shown at the counter in a mobile device instead of the physical fuel card.
Currently, KazMunayGas has around 340 gas stations in the Asian country, according to its website.
