Thailand: PTT to add 600 street food stores at filling stations

Thailand's Commerce Ministry to open 600 “Noonid” food shops at PTT gas stations this year.

Last update:

State-owned fuel retailer PTT will add around 600 Noonid stores, a brand of cheap street food created some years ago by the Department of Internal Trade, around Thailand.

The Noonid food stores were initially launched to cope with the rising living costs of the Asian country, reports the Bangkok Post.

"The first Noonid branch [at a PTT station] will be opened in early March and all 600 shops will be ready to serve by September," said Commerce permanent secretary Wiboonlasana Ruamraksa.

Currently, there are some 1,450 PTT fuel stations and 11,800 Noonid shops in Thailand.
