"The new format will be up to 200 stations by the end of the year," said Rainer Kraus, Aral's Head of Transformation Convenience Business.

By 2021, the REWE To Go format will be available at up to 1,000 company-owned petrol stations.

"With the core competence as food wholesaler and concept supplier of the sales concept REWE To Go, we will work with our partner Aral to strengthen the shop business together", said Philipp Pauly, Responsible for the REWE To Go sales format at REWE.

Bochum-based Aral has approximately 2,450 filling stations and supplies fuels and lubricants in Germany.

REWE Markt GmbH operates approximately 10,000 REWE outlets and one of the leading companies in the German food retail market.
