The stations, which can charge electric vehicles in 20 minutes, will be an added value to the services provided by the hotels and restaurants, said Fred van der Valk, adding that his company and Fastned both cater to people on the road and place a high premium on customer service.

According to a company release, Fastned currently has 63 stations in the Netherlands and recently acquired additional locations in Germany.

It also partnered with Transport for London to build fast-charging stations in The Greater London Area.

"In 2011 I invested in Fastned to realise a national charging network in the Netherlands. I’m excited to see that we are now building a European network together with an ever increasing group of private investors," said Bart Lubbers, co-founder, Fastned.
