Shell and Allego team up to offer fast chargers in UK, Netherlands
Shell is set to offer fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers at its select petrol stations in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands by the end of 2017.
The oil company is working in partnership with EV charging solutions provider Allego to install and operate 50-kW chargers, according to a company release.
The first chargers are due to open in Greater London, Derby, and the western part of the Netherlands (Randstad).
"Allego and Shell join forces by adding fast chargers at the right service stations. Shell now actively contributes in creating a reliable and open charging network. A network that is accessible for all EV drivers, despite the brand of the car,” said Anja van Niersen, CEO of Allego.
