Over 14,000 fuel stations in India to serve as bank points
A partnership between Airtel Payments Bank and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) will make account opening, cash deposit and withdrawal, and money transfer possible in more than 14,000 HPCL stations.
The strategic partnership between India's first payment bank and the state-owned oil company is expected to promote digital payments in the country.
Airtel Payments Bank customers, in addition, can also pay fuel at HPCL stations by just using their mobile phones. These cashless payments can be made via smartphones (MyAirtel App) as well as feature phones (USSD), said the company.
"We are confident that this partnership will add to the growth of digital payments in the country and contribute to the Government’s Digital India vision,” said Shashi Arora, MD & CEO, Airtel Payments Bank.
