USA: Royal Farms latest fuel retailer to bet on EV charging points

U.S. gas station operator Royal Farms has partnered with ChargePoint and local utilities install EV chargers at 22 of its gas stations.

Royal Farms, a fuel retailing company with 180 fuel stations in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, is launching a pilot program to offer EV charging services at its sites.

Aware of the opportunity of drawing more customers into its premises, Royal Farms has decided to install fast chargers at 22 of its locations, reports Clean Technica.

According to the mentioned publication, the company lowered its initial pricing to a flat rate of $0.29/kWh with a minimum charge of $3.50 per session. Customers are currently averaging 25 minutes per charging session.

ChargePoint was recently involved in a massive deal that will see the roll out of EV charging infrastructure in Motor Fuel Group´s 413 petrol stations in the UK.
