USA: Sheetz expands its offering of E15 to 77 locations

Drivers in Pennsylvania now have a wider access to ethanol-based fuels after Sheetz increased its offering at 77 locations.

A $7 million grant from the United States Department of Agriculture has allowed Sheetz to expand its offering E15 fuel to 340 more pumps at 77 locations in Pennsylvania, reports the Altoona Mirror.

The event to unveil one of the new locations was attended by Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell C. Redding and representatives from Sheetz, the USDA and the ethanol industry.

“Biofuels are an important component of the diverse energy portfolio that will power our country in the future,” said Redding in a statement.

Mike Lorenz, executive vice president of petroleum and supply for Sheetz, spoke about the importance of maximising convenience and choice for its customers.

“We are proud to partner with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and USDA to bring E15 to our customers,” he said.

The $7 million grant is part of the Biofuel Infrastructure Partnership program administered by the USDA’s Farm Service Agency.

Industry magazine Convenience Store Decisions has named Sheetz Inc. the 2017 Convenience Store Chain of the Year, a price conceded to the Pennsylvania-based chain for the second year running.
