Czech Republic: Benzina opens 400th station after OMV purchase

Czech Republic’s largest gas station operator Benzina has opened its 400th station in the country.

Last update:

Benzina, a company that belongs to Unipetrol Group, has opened its 400th gas station in Czech Republic pushed on by the acquisition of OMV’s fuelling network, reports Dopravní Noviny.

The Czech retailer is also investing in the refurbishment of its stations while adding new fuel types: standardizing the look of the sites, expanding sales and services and improving the Stop Café restaurants.

“Nowadays, Benzina is a modern trend in all directions and a trend-setting brand,” said Marek Zouvala, head of Unipetrol Benzina's petrol division.

With the acquisition of the OMV gas stations Benzina will eventually have 411 sites in its network. Instead of building new stations from scratch the company will be focusing on refurbishing its sites and looking at other acquisitions.

The acquisition process will be completed in the first quarter of 2018.
