Named the ‘X-Store’, it is 7-Eleven’s second unmanned store in the world having the first launched in South Korea last year.

The store will use facial biometric identification including ‘Face in’ for entry to the store; ‘Face pay’ to make payments; and ‘Face go’ for checkout, according to Taiwan News.

Robot greeters, electronic labels, microwave oven with scanners are among the technology that will be employed in the experimental store.

Located in the headquarters of 7-Eleven Taiwan operator President Chain Store Corp, it will be beta tested on 7-Eleven staff from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. instead of 24 hours.
