The 156 new stations add to 32 existing ones, supporting the continuing electrification of the City’s municipal fleet, which now includes over 200 plug-in vehicles and 300 hybrid vehicles.

“Electrifying our City’s fleet saves Seattle taxpayers money and reduces our carbon pollution,” said Durkan.

Seattle has invested $1.5 million in the charging infrastructure in line with the Drive Clean Seattle Initiative.

The 188 charging stations will source energy from Seattle City Light, the country’s greenest utility.
