Leading European trade fair for the fuel retailing and car wash industries UNITI expo 2018 has unveiled its International Forum conference program.

Last update:

With just over two weeks left until UNITI expo 2018, taking place in Stuttgart (Germany), the organizers have unveiled an ambitious and complete conference program focused on the state of the industry across the world, alternative fuels and payment solutions.

On May 15-17, around 15,000 industry professionals will be meeting at UNITI expo 2018 to exhibit the newest products and discuss the latest innovations from the forecourt, convenience and car wash sectors.

“The conference program is now available. We’ve tried to cover all the key issues relevant to the present and future of the forecourt industry. This will be a great opportunity to see top innovators and experts discussing crucial topics such as the implications of cloud-based solutions, mobile payments and the growing importance of alternative fuels,” says Bruno Boroewitsch, coorganizer of UNITI expo.

The International Forum, with CECOD and APEA as cooperation and association partners, will be divided in three themed days. The first will explore the major changes in the fuel retailing sector around the world with sessions on cloud services and the digital revolution; a presentation by Rick Long (Petroleum Equipment Institute) on the U.S. fuel retailing market; changes in Latin America and dynamics of Asia as well as trends in the CIS area.

The second day will focus on the impact of alternative fuels on the forecourt business. Sessions will explore the challenges and opportunities that electric mobility will bring to forecourt operators with speakers from CharPoint, Petrotec Group and E.ON Drive. There will also be a debate on the role that natural gas-based fuels will play in the future fuel mix, the development of hydrogen and fuel-cell technology, and an insight into the Nordic experience with alternative fuels by Mattias Goldmann, from the Swedish think-tank Fores.

On the final day, mobile solutions and global payment trends will take the stage. Presentations by technology companies such as Diebold Nixdorf and paydirekt GmbH will look into the latest developments in the payment sector. Oil giants Shell and Total will close the conference program with presentations of their own mobile payment apps.

In addition to the International Forum, which will be all in English, the trade show will also host a Car Wash Forum, with presentations in German and English, and a UNITI expo Forum that will focus on convenience and only available in German.
