Over 17,000 attendees are reported to have taken part in UNITI expo 2018, which took place May 15 – 17 in Stuttgart, Germany, beating the previous record of UNITI expo 2016 of 15,000 attendees, according to the organizers.

Three days of trade fair welcomed 467 exhibitors from 37 countries and participants from over 120 nations, cementing its role once again as the biggest European event for the forecourt and carwash industries.

We explore the development of non-traditional fuels in the current market. All the major fuel equipment manufacturers are now rolling out solutions for alternative fuels, while most international retailers have begun to install electric vechicle chargers and natural gas-based dispensers. At the same time, regions of the world such as California, Japan and Germany have started to build hydrogen infraestructure.

At UNITI expo 2018 we spoke to a number of experts and suppliers about different fuel types and the expectations they have for the near future.

In this report we interview Stefan Kunter (Elaflex); Rui Barata (Petrotec); David Diarra (Oel-Waerme-Institute); Katarina Otteby of E.ON Drive; Dr. Cornelius von der Heydt (Hydrogenious Technology); and Sybille Riepe (H2 Mobility).
