SPAR Netherlands introduces payment with Tikkie App

After the successful roll-out of the Tikkie payment solution in its SPAR University stores, SPAR Netherlands has become the first retailer in the country to introduce the app to all stores nationwide.

All SPAR Netherlands retailers who use Storeworld cash registers can now offer this service to their customers. At the self-scan checkout counters a QR code is displayed and to pay, this must be scanned by the customer using the Tikkie app or a QR scanner.

“More than 3 million people now use Tikkie,” says Freek de Steenwinkel, Director of Tikkie. “With our app, SPAR retailers will make the shopping experience for their customers even easier.”

The implementation and roll-out of the payment solution in SPAR stores in the Netherlands will take place in the coming period, in cooperation with ABN AMRO bank.

Today SPAR Netherlands operates more than 260 stores across the country.
