English Español Mexico: Petro-7 CEO to lead rival retailer G500 Network

Mexican fuel retailer G500 Network has announced the appointment of Luz María Gutiérrez as new CEO.

Luz María Gutiérrez will replace Emilio Estrada as CEO of growing Mexican gas station operator G500 Network. The new head of the company was the CEO of Petro-7, 7-Eleven’s brand for the Mexican fuel market, during the last five years, reports Forbes.

“I am thrilled to join a company with a value proposition and growth that have become references in the Mexican service station market,” said the new CEO in a statement.

Gutiérrez will be in charge of developing a business plan to increase the number of sites in Mexico from the current 210 to around 500 by the end of 2018. Swiss conglomerate Glencore will be backing the retailer with the supply of petroleum.

 The new CEO was also the chief financial officer of Duty Free Latin America, participating in its entry in the Mexican Stock Exchange.
