Continental is acquiring KTAS from Wesfarmers Limited of Australia for AUD350 million (US$255 million).

The Sydney-based KTAS, with more than 258 branches and over 1,200 employees, offers services including passenger and light commercial vehicle tire sales and service, inspections and maintenance, as well as minor mechanical repairs to brakes, air-conditioning and suspension systems.

It is expected to complement Continental’s existing Best Drive retail network and further expand its presence in the country.

“This move is part of our ‘Vision 2025’ growth strategy through which we are systematically expanding the worldwide presence of our Tire division,” said Nikolai Setzer, member of the Executive Board of Continental AG responsible for the Tire division.
