OMV, IONITY open the first 350 kW EV stations in Austria

OMV and IONITY launch the first Austrian sites in IONITY’s Pan-European High-Power Charging (HPC) network at the Mondsee (Salzburg) and Eisentratten (Carinthia) motorway filling stations

Last update:

OMV, the international oil and gas company based in Vienna, and its strategic partner IONITY have opened Austria’s first high-power, ultra-fast charging stations at the OMV motorway filling stations in Mondsee and Eisentratten.

Each charging point delivers up to 350 kW, leading to a significant reduction in charging times. Drivers of electric vehicles will be able to take on enough energy to drive additional 100 km in just five to ten minutes.

“For owners of vehicles powered by alternative fuels, a dense network is just as crucial as fast charging times. Starting up the first HPC parks in Austria marks another key step towards sustainable mobility”, said Manfred Leitner, OMV Executive Board member responsible for Downstream.

OMV is IONITY’s strategic location partner for Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovenia. There are plans to open additional fast charging stations at attractive OMV sites on major traffic routes in Austria.

In Downstream, OMV operates three refineries with a total annual processing capacity of 17.8 million tons and more than 2,000 filling stations in ten countries as of year-end 2017.
