UK: Independent petrol retailer acquired by Prax

Prax Group has acquired around 70 sites from HKS retail for an undiscloud ammount.

HKS Retail, the sixth biggest independent petrol retailer in the UK, has been acquired by Harvest Energy’s parent company Prax Group for an undisclosed sum.

Part of the 2018 Top 50 Indies, Leicester-based HKS has 68 sites and registered a turnover of £250 million ($365.6m).

Prax Group is a major independent petrol trading, storage, distribution and retail business.

“Prax has confirmed the acquisition of HKS Retail, a leading retail petrol station business. The acquisition reflects the group’s strategic objective to move into a new stage of accelerated investment, growth and development,” said a spokesperson for Prax.

HKS was formed in 1984 and became one of the largest independent forecourt chains in the UK.
