Adults with a medical card and government-issued identification will be able to buy marijuana products such as cannabis-infused gummies, tinctures and smokable marijuana to those fueling up at Atlantic Farms new site.

Gas N’ Grass receives about 250 customers a day at its pay-at-the-pump gas and will also offer traditional convenience store products like soda and snacks.

The opening follows the reforms passed by lawmakers over a gubernatorial veto earlier this year, which changed a host of standards for growing and selling medical marijuana, including the opening of medical marijuana stores.

Although more gas stations are starting to sell cannabis-related products across the United States, there are only a handful of such convenience stores in the country. The hemp products sold at these stores contains by law less than 1% of the cannabis compound.

“Given how fast states are legalizing marijuana, more [gas stations selling cannabis products] are definitely coming”, said the spokesman for the National Association of Convenience Stores, Jeff Lenard, to the Press Herald.
