Oman Oil Marketing Company’s first mega service station in the Sultanate is set to open in Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in 2019. The company signed a 20-year investment agreement with SQU to develop a fully integrated service hub on its campus, providing access to various offerings including shopping, food products and services.

The 10,000 square metre project will comprise a fuel service station, coffee shops, a car care centre, convenience store, shopping complex with global brands, a separate gym for men and women, a children’s play area, a pharmacy, a nursery, ATMs and a business centre for students. Restaurant services will be provided by Thai coffee house, Café Amazon.

“We are looking to create destinations of convenience and leisure for motorists, whereby going to a fuel station is no longer thought of as a routine repetitive experience but rather a delightful one”, said Chief Executive Officer at Oman Oil Marketing Company, David Kalife.

The SQU MEGA station will be completed in two phases. Phase one comprising the service station and car care centre ‘Optimo Swift’ is set to open in the second half of 2019. Phase two, which is set to open in 2020, will comprise all the other services in the complex.
