The National Environment Agency (NEA) is the leading public organisation responsible for keeping Singapore clean and green. Formed on 1 July 2002, NEA implements a range of environment-related programmes and initiatives through partnerships with the People, Public, and Private sectors.

A key mission of NEA is to motivate individuals to make caring for the environment a way of life. By keeping pollution levels low, ensuring high standards of public health, and providing up-to-date meteorological information, NEA aims to achieve sustainable development and to make Singapore a  quality living environment
