MWV - German Mineral Oil Industry Association

The Association of the German Mineral Oil Industry (Mineralölwirtschaftsverband, MWV) represents the major mineral oil companies and their refineries as well as their petrol station networks in Germany. The association's goal is to promote an efficient, responsible and affordable use of mineral oil products for the good of consumers and the economy.

For its member companies, MWV follows the legislation in federal and state governments, manages public relations, contributes to the expertise of the industry and develops future perspectives.

The focus is on the environmental policy with regard to processing, transport and storage of mineral oil and its products, energy law, climate policy and tax legislation as well as the development of safety and accident prevention regulations when dealing with mineral oil products. The MWV bundles data for statutory reporting procedures, supports its members in standardization and campaigns for oil as a long-term affordable commodity and basis for mobility, heat and everyday goods.
